Depending on how you use our services, we may collect:

  • Identity and admission details: name, age or date of birth where required, city, email address, phone number, WhatsApp number and admission-form responses.

  • Course details: selected course and batch, enrolment status, access history, attendance, assignments, feedback, support requests and certificate information.

  • Payment and billing details: amount, date, payment method, transaction reference, payer name, invoice details and payment proof voluntarily shared for verification. Cowartu does not ask for or need your UPI PIN, OTP, full card PIN or banking password.

2. How we use information

We use personal information for specific business and course-related purposes, including to:

  • process admission forms, verify eligibility and manage student records;

  • verify UPI or bank-transfer payments, reconcile transactions and issue receipts or invoices;

  • activate course access, send PDFs, session links, schedules, reminders and course updates;

  • manage attendance, assignments, feedback, student support and certificate eligibility;

  • protect the Website, prevent fraud, investigate misuse and enforce our policies;

  • maintain financial, tax and business records and respond to lawful requests; and

  • improve our training services and website using appropriate operational or aggregated information.

We may send essential service messages without treating them as marketing. Promotional messages will be sent only where permitted by law and, where required, based on your consent. You may opt out of promotional messages at any time.

3. Voice samples, images and class recordings

Voice samples and assignments are used to provide instruction, assessment and feedback. If a live session is recorded, Cowartu will inform students before recording and explain the intended use. Recordings may be made available to the relevant batch for revision where appropriate. Cowartu will not use an identifiable student voice, face, testimonial or work in public marketing, advertisements or social media without separate permission.

4. Sharing and disclosure

Cowartu does not sell or rent personal information. Information may be shared only where reasonably necessary with service providers supporting the business, such as website hosting, cloud storage, email, messaging, video-conferencing, accounting or payment/banking service providers. Those providers may process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

We may also disclose information where required by law, a court, a competent government authority, or where reasonably necessary to protect the safety, rights, property or security of Cowartu, students or others. If the business is reorganised or transferred, relevant records may be transferred subject to applicable law and appropriate safeguards.

5. WhatsApp and payment verification

For the current manual payment workflow, students may send transaction details or a payment screenshot to Cowartu’s official WhatsApp account. Cowartu uses this information to match the payment with the student’s admission record. A screenshot is not treated as proof that funds have cleared until the transaction is verified. WhatsApp is a third-party service and its own privacy policy applies to information processed by WhatsApp.

6. Cookies and technical tools

The Website may use essential cookies or similar technologies to operate the site, remember preferences, protect sessions and understand website performance. You may be able to control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect website functionality. Any non-essential tracking or marketing technologies will be used in accordance with applicable law and any consent requirements.

7. Data security

Cowartu uses reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information handled. These may include restricted access, strong account credentials, secure hosting configurations, backups and careful handling of payment records. No online service can guarantee absolute security. If a personal-data incident occurs, Cowartu will take reasonable steps to contain and address it and will provide notices to affected individuals or authorities where required by applicable law.

8. Data retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for admission, course delivery, student support, accounting, tax, dispute resolution, fraud prevention and legal compliance. Financial and transaction records may be retained for the period required by applicable law. When information is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to delete or anonymise it, subject to backups and lawful retention requirements.

9. Your privacy requests

You may contact Cowartu to request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information, or to withdraw consent for optional promotional communications. We may need to verify your identity before acting. A deletion request may be limited where Cowartu must retain records for tax, accounting, security, legal claims or another lawful purpose. Requests will be handled in accordance with the laws and rules in force at the relevant time, including the DPDP Act, 2023 and DPDP Rules, 2025 as their respective provisions become effective.

10. Children and guardian information

A person below 18 may participate only through the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who must provide accurate contact details and be responsible for the minor’s enrolment. Cowartu may request guardian verification. We do not knowingly seek unnecessary personal information from children.
