Refund & Cancellation Policy
Clear refund rules for PDF Courses, Live Masterclasses and instalment payments
This Policy applies to purchases made from Cowartu through the Website or an admission process managed by Cowartu. It must be read with the product page and admission confirmation. Nothing in this Policy removes any non-waivable right or remedy available to a consumer under applicable Indian law.
1. PDF Course purchases
A standalone PDF Course is a digital product. Once access to the PDF or its download link has been activated or delivered, the purchase is ordinarily non-refundable because the digital material has been made available for use. The standard access period for the relevant PDF Course is 30 days unless the course page states otherwise. Expiry of the access period does not create a refund entitlement.
This rule does not prevent Cowartu from correcting a duplicate charge, a payment collected in error, or a genuine failure to deliver access. If payment is confirmed but access is not provided, or the PDF is materially inaccessible due to a technical issue attributable to Cowartu, contact support so the issue can be investigated and resolved. Where Cowartu cannot provide the purchased digital product, an appropriate refund or other remedy will be considered as required by law.
2. Live Masterclass: initial ₹399 payment
Where a Live Masterclass offer requires an initial payment of ₹399, that payment is allocated as follows: ₹99 is the separately identified fee for the accompanying PDF/document course, and ₹300 is credited towards the Live Masterclass enrolment or tuition fee. The ₹399 payment is part of the overall course payment and is not an additional charge unless the specific offer clearly says otherwise.
If the student requests cancellation before the first scheduled Live Masterclass session begins, Cowartu will retain ₹99 for the PDF Course access already provided and refund ₹300. This pre-start refund rule assumes that the PDF access has been activated or delivered. If it has not been delivered, the retained amount will be reviewed accordingly.
3. Live Masterclass: withdrawal after classes begin
Once the first scheduled live class has begun, a student is not entitled to a full refund merely because they change their mind, stop attending or decide not to continue. However, a partial refund may be considered for the unused portion of the 45-day program, calculated under the method below, provided the student submits a written cancellation request before the program is completed.
The following calculation will be used:
| Potential Refund = Live Masterclass payments actually received by Cowartu (excluding the ₹99 PDF Course fee) − value of training days elapsed − eligible, pre-disclosed and non-recoverable costs actually incurred. The refund cannot be less than zero. |
|---|
Value of training days elapsed will be calculated on a pro-rata basis using the published Live Masterclass tuition fee (excluding the separate ₹99 PDF Course fee) divided by 45 days, multiplied by the number of calendar days elapsed from the official batch commencement date up to the date Cowartu receives the written cancellation request. The ₹99 PDF Course fee remains separate and non-refundable once PDF access has been delivered.
Eligible additional costs may include administration or enrolment costs, payment-processing charges, or instructor preparation/allocation costs that have actually been incurred and cannot reasonably be recovered. Such costs may be deducted only if the relevant amount or a clear calculation method was disclosed to the student before payment. Cowartu will not impose an arbitrary, punitive or undisclosed charge, will not deduct the same cost twice, and will provide an itemised calculation of any approved refund.
If the deductions equal or exceed the eligible payments received, no refund will be payable. No refund will be made for days or training already delivered. Any refund required because Cowartu fails to deliver a material part of the purchased service will be assessed separately and in accordance with applicable law.
4. Instalment payments
Where offered and agreed in writing at admission, the Live Masterclass fee may be paid in up to five instalments. The instalment amounts, due dates and payment method will be communicated before enrolment is confirmed. The initial ₹399 payment, where applicable, will be treated as part of the overall payment schedule as described in Section 2.
If a student withdraws after classes begin, the refund calculation will consider only the Live Masterclass amounts actually received, together with the pro-rata value of the course delivered and eligible costs described above. Unpaid future instalments for services not yet delivered will not be charged after an approved cancellation, subject to any amount already due for services delivered or other obligations clearly agreed before enrolment. Late or missed instalments may result in temporary suspension of access to future sessions after notice.
5. No-show, absence and student-side issues
No separate refund is normally provided for classes a student misses, late arrival, failure to submit assignments, lack of practice, change of personal plans, device problems or internet issues at the student’s end. These matters do not automatically extend the batch or create an entitlement to individual make-up sessions. This section does not override the partial withdrawal calculation in Section 3 or mandatory statutory rights.
6. Duplicate payments, failed payments and non-delivery
If the same course is charged more than once, a payment is collected in error, funds are verified as received but access is not supplied, or a material technical failure attributable to Cowartu prevents access and cannot reasonably be resolved, contact Cowartu with the student name, course/batch, transaction reference, payment date and proof. Cowartu will investigate and, where a refund is due, process it through the original payment method where possible or another mutually agreed traceable method.
7. Batch cancellation or material non-delivery by Cowartu
If Cowartu cancels a batch before it begins and does not offer a reasonable alternative batch or date acceptable to the student, the student may choose a refund of amounts paid for the undelivered Live Masterclass service, subject to the value of any separate digital product already delivered and applicable law. If Cowartu cancels or is unable to deliver a material part after the batch begins, Cowartu will offer a reasonable reschedule, extension or other remedy; where a refund is appropriate, the undelivered portion will be assessed fairly and in accordance with applicable law.
8. How to request cancellation or a refund
Send a written request to [email protected] or Cowartu’s official WhatsApp number +91 92790 44047. Include your full name, registered phone/email, course name, batch, date of payment, transaction reference, reason for the request and any supporting proof. The date Cowartu receives the written request will be used for the post-start day-wise calculation. Cowartu may request additional information to verify the request.
9. Refund processing
Once approved, Cowartu will ordinarily initiate the refund within 7–14 business days, or within another period required by law or the payment provider. The actual credit date may depend on the bank or payment service. Cowartu will share the refund reference or payment confirmation where available. Any third-party fee that is non-recoverable may be deducted only where it was clearly disclosed before payment and is lawful.
10. Grievances and statutory rights
For any dispute about a refund calculation, request an itemised explanation from Cowartu. Complaints may be addressed to the designated Grievance Officer: Ishwar Tudu, [email protected], Jadugora, East Singhbhum, Jharkhand, India, +91 92790 44047. Cowartu will acknowledge consumer grievances within 48 hours and endeavour to resolve them within one month, as applicable under the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020. This Policy does not restrict a consumer from using remedies available under applicable law.
